The general dress code requires people to be dressed modestly while visiting the temple. Men are expected to wear mundu, dhoti or a lungi and not any type of trousers. The other more specific method of worship is called "pran pratishtha" which involves offering food made of flour, fruits, dry fruits, vegetables and rice as part of the offering. This type of offering is made after conducting specific Vedic rituals. The food is then taken in two forms – one cooked in a vessel filled with water and the other uncooked at the feet of Lord Shiva. This process of offering food and offering prayers is considered highly auspicious by devotees, and it attracts a large number of people to the temple. This most visited temple in Maharashtra
